Welcome to Our Halloween
Page for 2020. This is the year that Covid 19 made its appearance and had a very
negative impact on the World as we knew it. This is the year that taught us all
to not take anything for granted, appreciate the little things, be thankful for
what you have. To that end, the display this year is Covid themed. The Skeletons
are doing their part by: Wearing a "Jason" mask, Washing their Zombie hand with
a brush and warm running water (and hanging them up to dry), and staying Six
Zombie Feet apart. We created a one-way path for the Trick-or-Treaters. They
came up the walkway and onto the porch, received pre-bagged candy from a CDA
agent, went across the porch, down a temporary stair set that we built, and
exited along a graveyard path.
We also did a projection
of a Halloween parade on the front of the house to lighten the mood. A
couple of Corona Virus pop up from behind some tombstones. We brought back the graveyard with tilting and rocking tombstones.
Three Rising Light-up Pumpkins and the Creature in the Coffin returned this
year. The pumpkin man made an appearance to make funny faces, and to tell
Halloween themed jokes (naturally). The Spider
still travels his web from top to bottom; I forgot to install the battery for
his blinking LED eyes (oops). Black lights add
ambiance, Halloween lights and carved pumpkins add to the festivities.
It takes lots of string
lights, lots of pneumatics, lots of cylinders,
lots of relays,
lots of extension cords, multiple amplifiers and speaker sets, and lots and lots of time to create the show. The show is run by a Light-O-Rama 24-channel control
system. Rach did the LOR programming. Check out the pictures and videos below.
