Welcome to Our Halloween
Page for 2016. This year's theme was "The Nightmare Before Christmas" Marilyn
Manson style! A talking skull does the opening monologue from the movie.
Excellent Holiday Iconic Artwork flanks the talking skull. The Pumpkin Man and
his orange mohawk wearing Pumpkin backup singers belt out the rock version of
"This is Halloween". A Skeleton guitar player and a Skeleton keyboard player jam
along with Green Monster on drums. The opening video from the movie is projected
onto a screen positioned above and behind the band. As the Grand Finale, Jack
the Pumpkin King rises up and waves to all his fans.
It takes lots of string
lights, lots of pneumatics (2 compressors, 10 valves, lots of cylinders,
custom 70" stroke non-rotating cylinder),
lots of extension cords, and lots and lots of time to create the show. The show is run by a Light-O-Rama 24-channel control
system and a second Light-O-Rama 8-channel control system. A "robotic finger"
pushes play on the remote control to start the video (Will's creation). An A/B plc drives the Walkway show (which also uses pneumatics). An optical
sensor is used to trigger the Walkway show. Check out the pictures and videos below.

2012 Halloween website for the walkway video (link at bottom of this page). It consists of Ghosts lighting up and popping up
from behind Tomb Stones, Creature trying to escape from the
coffin, Three pumpkins rising up and lighting up, the Rocking
Chairs with three skeletons lit up and rocking, the
Raven flaps his wings, tilts forwards and backwards, and rotates his head, the Spider travels his web from top to bottom, and black lights add
ambiance, Halloween lights and carved pumpkins add to the festivities, and of course Disney's
"Grim Grinning Ghosts" Haunted Mansion Theme Song is playing in the background.
I'll be taking a break from creating a large show for a while. I plan to
concentrate on the walkway show. The plan is to convert it to Light-O-Rama, make
improvements to the existing mechanisms, and create some new components..
